The weather was kind to us, not too hot, with a slight shower to settle the dust.
We hosted over 160 riders from 26 schools from as far away as the Central Coast.
Congratulations to the P&C members, parents, grandparents and ex parents who ran an outstanding day.
Riders and families were impressed with the canteen which was extremely busy throughout the day.
The Willow Tree Public School P&C would like to send out a massive thank you to everyone who assisted with this event.
It is a huge undertaking for the committee, however they all came together to make it happen and for one reason: our students.
The P&C constantly provide support to our school and students and without their contributions our students wouldn't have the opportunities they have.
Thank you to the Willow Tree 355 committee and Liverpool Plains Shire Council who have been working tirelessly on the Willow Tree Grounds to ensure our event remains local next year. It is greatly appreciated. Congratulations to all champions, reserve and encouragement winners, as well as the winning schools. A great day was had by all.
Quirindi High was awarded the highest point scoring high school and overall highest point scoring school
Congratulations
Congratulations to Molly McKinley and Jake and Emily Wamsley who competed at Willow Tree Horse Sports last Friday.
All three students had a great day and all came away with ribbons.
Well done to Jake Wamsley who was awarded eight year boy champion on his horse 'Bronson' and to Emily Wamsley who was awarded 10 year girl reserve champion on her horse "Stardust'.
What a fantastic result for all three students who also displayed outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day.
Brien Cobcroft Memorial Trophy
Jake Wamsley was the recipient of the Brien Cobcroft Memorial Trophy at our horse sports last week.
Mr Cobcroft was a well-known local man and an Olympic medal recipient. He won a bronze medal at the Mexico Olympics in equestrian.
After Mr Cobcrofts passing a memorial trophy was established for the highest point scorer from Willow Tree Public School at the Willow Tree Horse Sports.
We thank the Cobcroft Foundation together with the Cobcroft family for their continued support.
