Adam Eckersley from the Adam Eckersley Band, and Brooke McClymont from The McClymonts, are headed to the region for an unplugged gig.
Jen McPherson will support the duo.
“We’ll have a bit of a laugh probably,” Eckersley said.
“We’re just having a lot of fun.”
The husband and wife duo have hit the road while both of their usual touring bands are not on the gigging.
“It’s also an excuse for us to have a couple of weekends away,” Eckersley said.
“We do a bit of AEB stuff, McClymonts stuff, and just covers that we both really dig. We’re so used to playing in the bands that we’re in and used to the songs sounding like they sound with the band, it’s been an interesting experience to just play with the two of us.”
The laidback nature of the acoustic shows also allows the two artists to talk about where the songs came from and how and why they were written.
“It’s just been a lot of fun because Brooke and I love making music together,” Eckersley said.
“It’s always been a part of our relationship and it’s not something that we’re pursuing together at the moment, it’s just something fun to do. At some point down the line, when we’re retired, we can grey cruise around in the Winnebago and do gigs at caravan parks.”
The duo have a handful more shows coming up before McClymont prepares to hit the road again with her sister trio in July.
Eckersley is off to Nashville at the end of May and then his band will be touring and preparing for a European tour in September.
Catch them from 7pm on Saturday for a free show at Narrabri Golf Club.
