Wiggle Town is their new tour and the name of the new Wiggles CD, DVD, and TV series which debut on ABC TV.
The Wiggle Town tour follows the runaway success of last year, where The Wiggles performed in every state and territory across Australia and sold out more than 200 shows, performing to more than 250,000 fans around the world, making The Wiggles the most successful children’s entertainment group.
Young fans and the young at heart will sing and dance along with the latest Wiggles hits including Do the Propeller, Emma’s Yellow Bow and Simon Says, as well as Wiggle classics Hot Potato, Rock a Bye Your Bear and Fruit Salad.
It wouldn’t be a party without all your best friends and the Fab Four of fun will, of course, be joined by Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus.
The Wiggles are Australian icons, trusted and treasured by Aussies with a recent survey (i-View Omnibus) showing that 92 per cent of Australians are aware of The Wiggles; 66 per cent of Australian adults have been entertained by The Wiggles in their lifetime; 81 per cent of children (1-5 years) have been entertained by The Wiggles and 70 per cent of young parents say that The Wiggles are their pre-schoolers favourite entertainers.
Blue Wiggle, Anthony, sings and plays the guitar, drums, tin whistle and even bagpipes and is the longest-serving Wiggle member.
He likes dancing and is the compere of The Wiggles’ live shows.
Red Wiggle, Simon, sings with a deep bass-baritone voice.
It’s said that his singing voice is so nice that it could “charm the whistle off an evening train”.
He loves to sing and do the actions to Simon Says with the
audience.
Lucky Lachy wears the purple Wiggles shirt and plays the keyboards, sings and dances.
He loves to sleep and believes it’s his purple shirt that makes him sleepy.
Yellow Wiggle, Emma can dance ballet, jazz, tap and even Irish and has been dancing since she was a young girl.
Emma loves wearing bows in her red hair and even on her shoes; she says they look “bowtiful”.
She also plays the drums with a joyous wiggly beat and is the driver of the Big Red Car.
Emma’s own TV series debuted on ABC TV last year, due to her popularity and work has begun on the Lachy TV show – let’s hope he stays awake for this one.
With so many sold out shows last year, you better get a wiggle on and get your tickets now as tickets to The Wiggle Town tour will sell like hot potatoes.
Wiggle Town rolls into Wests in Tamworth on August 6 at 10am and 12.30pm and to Armidale at 10am and 12.30pm on August 7, with the 10am Armidale show already sold out.
