At Armidale on Monday the gelding swamped his rivals to win the $15,000 Roberts & Morrow Chartered Accountants Benchmark 60 Handicap (1300m).
His one and three quarter length win was his second for the Moree stable since arriving earlier this year.
He had raced in Sydney but debuted for Sinclair with a brilliant win at Moree on February 20.
He then went to Coonamble but had no luck, said Nathan Sinclair, son of Peter.
“He was just unlucky at Coonamble, drew a bad gate and was caught wide all the way.
“Today he had a perfect run.”
Just where he goes now will be decided by Sinclair senior who has runners at both Friday’s Tamworth meeting and Saturday’s Narrabri Cup meeting.
“Dad has Pull No Punches in at Tamworth and Dungiven in at Narrabri on Saturday,” Nathan Sinclair confirmed.
“They should go all right.”
Pull No Punches received 59.5kg in Friday’s $15,000 Tamworth Freight Specialists Benchmark 70 Handicap (1400m), the feature race for which the Sue Grills-trained Monashee Woods (62kg) is topweight.
Provincial trainer Damien Lane has nominated two, Lester’s Home (61.5kg) and Bench Star (55kg) while Taree tainer Bob Milligan has nominated recent NRRA Country Championships Qualifier (at Taree) Another Valley (58.5kg).
The TJC has not raced for about six months after undergoing a
$2 million track upgrade.
It will run eight races Friday while Narrabri Jockey Club has a six-race non TAB meeting on Saturday.
Feature event at Narabri is the $12,000 Narrabri Cup, a benchmark 65 handicap over 1200m while the $8000 Wee Waa Cup (1500m) is the main support race.
Narrabri’s Cup day has drawn 60 nominations for the non-TAB meeting where Grills also has the Narrabri Cup top weight Jedak nominated.
He will carry 61.5kg if he runs in the 1200m Cup.
She had Couperin in Monday’s Armidale Cup but the gallant little chestnut might now go for a spell after running seventh to Hunter Jack in the McDonald’s Armidale Cup.
