A RANGE of events will be held throughout the northern region this month to help the region celebrate, connect and grow – the theme for this year’s Mental Health Month.
Each Wednesday until October 24, Hunter New England Health will hold a presentation at Inverell Library on different mental health issues, including young people’s mental health, moods and stress.
In Armidale, a day of barbecue, tree planting and music is planned for Sunday, October 14, followed by a mental health expo at Armidale TAFE on Wednesday, October 17.
Armidale will also host Get Active, which includes nearly a month of physical activities around the city, starting from October 15.
In Tamworth, the community is invited to shake off the stress next Friday with a day of dancing, food, laughter yoga, massage, silent disco and live music at the Stress Less Festival in Bicentennial Park.
Tamworth High School students will also learn more about mental health and wellbeing with a Mindzone Fair Day later in the month.
