Tamworth Florist owner Margaret Wilkinson said many people had chosen to have flowers delivered to their partner’s workplace on Friday.
“We’ll be delivering a lot on Saturday and we’ll be starting very early in the morning on Sunday,” Ms Wilkinson told The Leader on Friday.
Red roses are the traditional Valentine’s Day flower, but white and coloured roses have also been popular.
“Colombian red roses with 70-centimetre stems are the most popular,” Ms Wilkinson said.
“But people also like lilies and carnations.”
Many florist shops will be opening their doors on Sunday for all those who may have forgotten the special day and need to make a last-minute purchase.
