A good field of 77 golfers hit the course in almost perfect conditions, playing two individual stablefords, one on the front nine and one on the back.
Lesley Jeffriess took out the front nine with the best score of the day of 19 points to take out A grade from Pat Clark who scored 17 points as well as taking the nearest the pin on the final hole.
The front nine A grade was won by a good round from Vicki McKnight, also tallying 17 points to just edge out Noelene Chaffey who was runner up on a countback with 16.
Faye Hodge also scored 16 points to beat Lynne Hibbard on a countback in C grade on the front, while Joan Tolman made17 points to win C grade from Pos Tuckey.
On the back, Mary Gurd notched up 16 points to win B grade, two points ahead of runner-up Pam Perkins, with Sally Hansen also scoring 16 points to win C grade from Robyn Dunstan on 13.
Narelle Dunst was nearest the pin on the back, going close on the 16th.
Following the golf a bevy of delicious treats were on sale with morning tea made by the United Auxiliary ladies, followed by a trading table that saw a whole range of goods on offer.
Tamworth Ladies president Lynne Collier said over $2300 was raised and donated to the United Hospital Auxiliaries on the day.
“It was a great day of golf and a great morning tea and day,” Collier said.
Last year the Auxiliaries raised over $60,000 for the hospital, with the most recent project a $50,000 refurbishment of some of the old wards, including the fitting of new privacy curtains.
Next week the Tamworth Ladies will host their first function of the new year with the Ladies Open Day teeing off on Thursday morning.
The social day includes a morning competition before a luncheon with around 100 ladies expected to attend.
“It is our first big social day of the year,” Collier said.
