Fabulous Flicks
Tamworth will host another episode in the Fabulous Flicks series that recreates the city’s history from celluloid and turns it up on the big screen.
The Tamworth Historical Society and the Tamworth Regional Film and Sound Archive join forces again next weekend to present some more historic footage from the past for a special public screening.
This latest production of Fabulous Flicks 2012 includes vision and audio of interviews and presentations of the opening of the Regional Conservatorium of Music, a visit by former governor Sir Roden Cutler, an interview with Golden Guitar winner Arthur Blanch, followed by a screening of the old movie The Squatter’s Daughter, which was partially filmed around Tamworth and Goonoo Goonoo Station.
According to a spokeswoman, it’s a movie of love, drama, flood, fire, dastardly deeds and much more to admire.
The Fabulous Flicks night is on Saturday at the South Uniting Church on Goonoo Goonoo Rd near the Longyard at 7.30pm
Tickets are $15 with children over five, $5 and includes supper. You can buy them at the door or at Calala Cottage Tuesday to Friday, 2pm to 4pm.
