I HAVE been here for seven months and I cannot find work in administration or accounts.
I check the internet and papers every day and apply for anything I am qualified for.
I hold two certificate IIIs in office administration and finance administration, as well as a diploma, and I am only in my mid-30s.
I have great references and I am at a loss.
I rarely hear back from any position I apply for and have been advised repeatedly “it’s a case of who you know, not what you know”.
That having been the case recently when I asked for feedback on a position and was advised the person who got the job was referred to them.
I honestly don’t see this as a fair procedure for getting work.
It’s a waste of my time and the time of the 40 other applicants who applied.
My partner’s place of work brings a lot of money into this town and soon that will be gone, along with the income it brings to the town.
I am sorry you cannot support a spouse in giving them work!
It is now putting me in the position of having to apply out of town and travel up to an hour-and-a-half to get to work, which is not fair to a small family, or relocate completely.
