LPSC mayor Andrew Hope said the council was able to delegate some of its functions to a committee.
“The committees provide a mechanism by which interested persons can have an active role in the provision and management of LPSC facilities or services,” Cr Hope said.
“This provides a twofold benefit: by giving protection to the committee operating under council’s banner; and by providing council with assistance in the care, control and management of various facilities. Memberships consist of a councillor and community representatives.”
Some of the committees people can get involved with include the Arts Council, Australia Day Committee, Royal Theatre Committee, Sports Council and the Werris Creek Development Committee.
