Comparing football grand finals

It was good to watch the grand finals of two football leagues over two days.

We were able to judge the effort, courage and ability of the players, plus the rules and manner  of the players’ attitudes.

Who would be impressed by a player biting another player’s ear?

Why would a player deliberately knee another player?

The NRL players run at each other like a herd of stampeding buffalo while the players of AFL just run and keep running.

Why do the NRL have a rule that when the ball is kicked over the goal line then a goal is declared if a  team player can  get there first and claim it?

Our neighbour, who is an army guy, said he believes NRL promotes kids into unacceptable  behaviour.

The AFL game was a nail biter, yet the NRL saw the Bulldogs mostly standing  like a bunch of flat- footed rhinos.

I want to see a game of action, interest and excitement, so I give NRL three  out of 10 and AFL nine out of 10.

Congratulations to the Swans.
