Namoi/North West State Emergency Service (SES) region controller Andrew Galvin said his unit received a dozen calls last Friday, with about eight jobs in Warialda, including shattered windows and felled trees.
Six volunteers from Narrabri tarped the roof of a property at Millie after a supercell storm swept through about 2pm last Friday.
Mr Galvin said he was quite relieved the storm hit hardest in a generally sparsely populated area.
He said it would serve as a timely reminder for locals to ensure their roofs were sound and properties prepared for extreme weather.
