Police search for missing Boggabri man

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man who has been reported missing in the Boggabri area.

Peter Riordan, 72, was last seen about 3.30pm on Friday September 28 leaving a caravan park in Boggabri in his vehicle.

It’s believed Mr Riordan was heading to the Namoi River to go fishing, but when he hadn’t returned by yesterday, he was reported missing.

Police have conducted extensive searches of the banks of the Namoi River, as well as known fishing holes in the area without success.

Today’s search will involve POLAIR and police on the ground, who will be assisted by the State Emergency Service (SES).

The missing man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall, of slim build, with brown hair and hazel/green eyes.

His car, which is also missing, is described as a 1993-model silver Toyota Landcruiser with NSW registration plates AI 70 WB.
