A man who held the hip of an injured motorcyclist to stop the bleeding has "lost faith in humanity" after dozens of cars drove by without stopping to help.

Andrew Crane was about a third through his 80 kilometre drive from Bombala to his home in Cooma around noon on Friday, when he and his passenger noticed a man standing on the road waving his hands in the air.
"He was trying to get cars to stop but they wouldn't," Mr Crane said.
"When we drove past I saw a bloke laying on the ground so we turned around straight away, and I asked if he was alright."
The injured man, in his 60s, had been thrown off his motorbike and could barely talk, but managed to say that he was struggling to breathe.
Mr Crane said the man standing on the road, named Paul, had been trying to call an ambulance but couldn't get through and was frustrated that no one stopped before Mr Crane had.
They eventually got onto NSW Ambulance, which arrived about half an hour later.
In the meantime, Mr Crane assisted the man with his sore shoulder and hip.
"I had to hold together the guy's wound at his hip because he was bleeding quite a lot, and I was pushing hard on his ribs," he said.
"His shoulder was sticking out quite a lot and he had lacerations on his ribs, it looked like a bone had popped out."
"His breathing was getting worse, he said he couldn't move and wanted water."
The men continued to assist paramedics once they arrived, until they took the victim to Cooma hospital.
He was then flown to Canberra Hospital by the Snowy Hydro SouthCare helicopter.
Mr Crane was shocked and upset that dozens of cars had driven past Paul when he was trying to wave them down.
He said it was obvious there had been an accident as motorbike debris was scattered along the road and the man lay nearby.
"It's common knowledge to help someone, especially when a bloke's on the road with his hands up and they don't even slow down, but they actually swerve around him," he said.
"The cars were literally hitting the debris."
By the time paramedics took the injured man to hospital, it was around 2pm – two hours since Mr Crane stopped to help.
A Snowy Hydro Southcare spokeswoman confirmed the helicopter flew a patient in his 60s from Nimmitabel (in the Cooma area) to the Canberra Hospital, after being involved in a motorbike accident.
"The patient sustained chest, arm and pelvic injuries," she said.
An ACT Health spokesperson said at 9pm on Friday that he was in a serious but stable condition.
Mr Crane took to Facebook to express his disappointment, writing: "Lost bit of faith in humanity today, when no one stopped to help this poor guy... Hopefully he pulls through."
