Master Num Pit’s credentials can’t be argued with as the former world champion boasts a record of 162 victories from 182 professional fights, he has been four times World Games champion and nine times Thailand champion as well as holding the number one ranking at the famous Lumpinee Stadium for five consecutive years.
Master Pit’s gym, Numponthep in Bangkok has recently been voted the best Muay Thai gym in the world for the fourth year running, with the Muay Thai master training a record close to 700 world champions.
One of those champions was on hand at Chaffey’s for the clinic as well, with pocket- sized big hitter Satanmuanglek showing the locals how to train and fight like a champion.
The 24-year-old has already had 216 fights and is an 11-time world champion at five different weight divisions, as well as a Thailand champion and World Games champion.
The pair put on a clinic at Chaffey’s Academy as part of a whirlwind Australian tour.
“This is the only gym in NSW they are coming to so we are very lucky to get them,” owner Clint Chaffey said.
“Satanmuanglek is one of the most famous fighters in the world at the moment.
“They really just want to promote the sport and culture they love across Australia and the world.”
Over 40 aspiring Muay Thai fans and enthusiasts attended the clinic, before the fighting duo packed up to head to Perth for their next seminar.
For Scott Chaffey, the visit was perfect timing as he prepares for what could be a Muay Thai title shot in a few months’ time.
Chaffey, Casey Adams and Rohan Northey will all fight in the upcoming Next Generation Fight Night in Gosford.
“I will find out in the next week whether or not it is for a NSW title,” Scott said.
Chaffey already holds a NSW Muay Thai title, although this fight gives him the opportunity to hold it in two different weight divisions as he steps up to the 82kg mark.
