Stolen cars recovered
ONE car has been recovered and another found burnt out after being stolen in Gunnedah this week.
A Toyota Corolla was found in a paddock on Wandobah Rd after being stolen from Bridge St between 11pm Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
But the owners of a stolen Nissan Navara weren’t so lucky. It was discovered burnt out on Goolhi Rd on Thursday morning after being stolen overnight.
Portable safe taken
MEDICATION and personal documents were stolen from a South Tamworth home on Thursday.
Between 9.30am and 2.30pm, thieves broke in through a rear, ground floor window and stole a portable safe containing the items.
The occupants were not home at the time. The items have not been recovered.
Bail-jumper in court
A TAMWORTH man who allegedly committed violent offences and broke his bail conditions will reappear in court in November.
Steven Davitt was arrested at Mungindi in July as part of a police operation targeting wanted individuals in the Moree area.
He was charged with recklessly wounding another person and failing to appear in accordance with a bail undertaking, in relation to offences committed in Tamworth in December last year.At a court appearance yesterday Davitt had his case adjourned until November 29.
Cannabis equipment
POLICE have discovered equipment they believe has been used to produce cannabis during a search at a Moonbi home.Officers carried out a search warrant at the George St address on Thursday afternoon, during which they discovered what appeared to be a hydroponic unit in a shed.
Police allege they found 50 grams of cannabis leaf in the unit.
They also located other items that would be consistent with the production of hydroponic cannabis.Inquiries into the matter continue.
