TAMWORTH’S Chaffey Black Belt Academy came back from last week’s World Martial Arts Alliance Country Cup in Singleton with plenty of trophies.
Sam Paton led the way with three first place trophies and a second, including wins in the 16/17 years novice/intermediate traditional forms, traditional weapons and points sparring sections and a second in contact sparring.
Scott Chaffey took out the open male black belt traditional forms title and also got a third in traditional weapons while Malachii Schofield won his full contact sparring 18 years and above under brown belt event.
Kristie Chaffey was second in the traditional forms open female black belt and Sheren McIntosh picked up seconds in the traditional forms and traditional weapons novice-intermediate sections.
Vincent O’Connor scored second in the contact sparring novice/intermediate and was also placed third in point sparring and traditional forms.
Blayne Hallford also took third in his 10/11 years male point sparring event.
Other members of the academy who were competing in their first ever tournament – Jack Paton, Dakota Barnett-Suey and Talyn Hallford – all received encouragement awards for their efforts.
