HUGH Miles had a successful home campdraft at Dungowan on the weekend.
The Dungowan rider won the open and maiden B drafts and picked up another couple of placings as well.
He took out the open draft on Corvette and was also placed third on Conductor behind Walcha’s Ben McNaughton (Double Duck).
In the Maiden campdraft Miles recorded two of the top scores.
He won with Millenic Chick and finished equal second on Venus with Richard Bull (Sweet Acres) and Phil Elliot (Prospect).
Coolah’s Troy Palmer also had a pretty good weekend.
He and Lisa teamed up to win the Maiden A campdraft.
There was a three-way tie for second, with Guy Lord (Cleo), Justin Vivers (Bracelet) and John Byrne (Jazz) all scoring the same.
Palmer and Lisa were also placed second in the Novice B campdraft, with Palmer also picking up fifth with Mistake.
Niangala’s Ned Clarke and Zoe won the Saturday night feature open for open from McNaughton (Double Duck), Steve Howard (Top Girl), Josh Barnett (Fidget) and Gavin White (Dealer).
They all shared the second prizemoney.
Todd Hammond and Candy were first in the Novice A and Wayne Smith and Pepsi the Novice B.
Theresa Wilson, riding Diva, topped the ladies’ division and Kristy Mickerts (Royelle) the encouragement.
Manilla’s Katie de Jong and Anita were adjudged the best juvenile drafting combination ahead of Josh Bruyn (Grey Nurse), Justin Gillies (Trix), Kristen Clair (Rebecca) and Jayden Dorney (Hickory Rose).
The junior draft was won by another Manilla rider – Angus Capel.
He and Symphony were in harmony.
Sophie Mains (Amy), Layne McKinnon (Nads) and Georgia Burns (Smartie) were equal second, with Capel and Amber taking fifth.
It was a successful and huge weekend for the local committee with more than 800 runs over the two days.
Every spot was filled, making it the biggest for a few years.
