A man will face two charges in court after being arrested near Wagga Wagga.
A man will face court on firearm charges following an alleged incident in Tamworth on New Year’s Day 2011.
About 5.30am on January 1, police were called to a house on Thompson Crescent, Tamworth after a number of gun shots had allegedly been fired.
A forensic examination was conducted on a property and the surrounding area searched. Police also interviewed a number of witnesses.
After an extensive investigation, police arrested a man about 8.45am yesterday at a property in Matong, 70km south of Wagga Wagga.
The 41-year-old man was he charged with firing a firearm in or near public place, and possessing an unauthorised pistol.
He was granted conditional bail and ordered to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on October 31.
Investigations into the incident continue.
