Rowing a total of 194km in 24 hours at Anytime Fitness, he didn’t break the Guinness world record (which stands at 307km), but smashed the Australian record with his efforts.
With 25-plus Relay For Life events from various regions around NSW under his belt, plus recent record-breaking attempts on the cross trainer, Warren is an old hand at pushing himself to the limit.
In the North West region alone, 1286 people were diagnosed with cancer and 439 will die from the disease in a single year, according to the latest figures.
Cancer Council NSW is committed to reducing these numbers and increasing survival rates while communicating information about the important support services Cancer Council NSW can offer the community.
“We can’t beat cancer alone,” The Cancer Council’s Amy Walker said.
“We are making great progress in the fight against cancer but there is still a lot of important work to do in the community, and we couldn’t do it without the help of amazing people like Warren Wright.”
