THE first meeting of the new Tamworth Regional Council will be held in Tamworth’s Ray Walsh House tonight from 6.30pm.
Among the items on the agenda are the mayoral and deputy mayoral elections.
Incumbent mayor Col Murray and deputy mayor Russell Webb have indicated their intention to seek nomination back to their respective roles.
Committee roles on council include more than 20 special purpose committees, including: the disability access working group; Sports Dome committee; crime prevention working group; liquor licensing panel and aviation industry steering group will also be determined.
The two councillors who will join the mayor and deputy mayor representing the council at the upcoming Local Government Association of NSW annual conference will also be decided.
The conference will be held in Dubbo between Sunday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 30.
