DETECTIVES are investigating an armed robbery at the Pembroke Tourist and Leisure Park just outside Armidale.
About 2.10pm yesterday police were called to the caravan park on Waterfall Way (Grafton Rd) after an employee of the park was threatened with a knife.
The offenders – described as two young males, one believed to be about 18 years old and another believed to be aged between eight and 10 – are understood to have entered the office at the park where they threatened a staff member with what was described as a straight-blade carving knife before leaving with cash.
Early descriptions of the offenders suggest the man believed to be about 18 was wearing a black hoodie.
The younger youth was described as having light brown hair and a lighter brown rat’s tail.
No further descriptions of the pair were available at press time.
It is understood forensic police from Tamworth were called to assist in investigations into the hold-up.
A crime scene was established and police investigations continued into the afternoon.
Police in Moree were also investigating a robbery late yesterday.
About 4pm police were called to Crazy Clarks on Balo St.
It is understood a quantity money was stolen from the store.
Police will review CCTV footage from the store as part of their investigation into the theft.
