The two-day program saw 1607 race entries from the 245 swimmers in attendance.
All regional clubs were represented, including Gunnedah, Kootingal, Nundle, Quirindi, Werris Creek, Coonamble and Moree, as well as three clubs from Armidale and teams arriving from Newcastle and Dorrigo.
Meet director Rebecca Wolfgang was very pleased to see the numbers and visitors growing each year.
“The weather has been perfect for the carnival,” Wolfgang said.
“There were some really good swims on Saturday as well.”
The carnival kicked off with the 200m and 400m races as well as some relays before the sprinters hit the water yesterday to battle out the 25m, 50m and 100m races, as well as the relay finals.
360 Scully Park’s team of 31 swimmers was the second largest behind Tamworth City and both were claiming their fair share of medals and personal bests.
“We are right in the middle of the carnival season at the moment,” Wolfgang said.
“Lots of the kids are looking to swim qualifying times for state and country carnivals next year.”
Next week Narrabri and Warialda will both hold their qualifying carnivals on Saturday and Sunday respectively, with a big meet at Moonbi- Kootingal on December 13.
Manilla will hold the last qualifying carnival before Christmas on December 20.
