The Physie and Dance The Tamworth Club’s senior girls Shelby Botfield-Mohr, Kiara Northey and Chloe Jolliffe are ready to dance on the national stage in today’s Australian Physie and Dance Association’s national finals.
Seven senior girls from the Tamworth club travelled to Sydney recently to compete at The Bryon Brown Theatre at Bankstown in the Australian Physie & Dance Association’s seniors’ weekend competition against girls from NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
Taleah Herden, Taylah Hannon, Ronika Brown and Maddison Godley in the 13yrs all made it through to the semi-finals.
Botfield-Mohr, Northey and Jolliffe were all selected in the 2nd year senior section final, making them eligible to compete in the Australian Physie and Dance national finals at the Opera House, with each girl vying for a top six finish.
Today’s national finals is APDA’s “Night of Nights” and is something that all APDA girls dream of, Tamworth club teacher Leigh Botfield said.
“To be eligible to dance on the Opera House stage in a national final and to then place in the Top 6 in Australia is a wonderful achievement.”
She is extremely proud of the girls “who have worked extremely hard to achieve their dream spots”.
“It is an amazing achievement for the club to have so many girls competing at a national level.”
