AFTER an absence of eight years, Sing Australia is back in Tamworth.

With a brand-new, enthusiastic leadership team and more than 25 keen starters, the group is ready to commence.

They are thrilled to have Sing Australia’s national director, Colin Slater, and deputy director Margaret Slater making a special visit to Tamworth on Wednesday, October 10 to welcome the new group.

Once the group has restarted, Sing Australia Tamworth will meet each Wednesday between 5pm and 7pm at St Stephen’s Hall, corner of Mathews and Crown streets, West Tamworth.

Anyone who is interested in singing is welcome to attend . The first session with Colin Slater will take the form of a fun, informative singing night.

Regardless of whether you have any previous singing experience or not, you are welcome to come along, says the Tamworth group’s leader, JanelleArmstrong.

“We want a diverse range of people, because inclusiveness and diversity is what we’re about – and we’d love some men to join the group,” Mrs Armstrong said.

Sing Australia, which has 600 members around Australia and offers a diverse range of more than 350 songs to sing, does not audition its members. Your voice is accepted, no matter what.

Mr Slater is excited to be renewing the Tamworth group after such a long absence from the successful network that has now grown to more than 150 groups nationwide.

The original Tamworth group had stopped because its leader, Bill Mason, passed away.

Cost for the new group’s first night only is $10; thereafter, it will be $8.

“You can have a little tryout for a few weeks, if you want to have a go, before paying your annual subscription of $102 (full member, but there are concessions),” Mrs Armstrong said.
