FOUR local Rural Fire Service (RFS) stations will open their doors to the public tomorrow.
The Tamworth, Manilla, Kingswood and Watsons Creek brigades will welcome all visitors in the annual RFS open day so the public can meet the volunteers and see how the stations work.
The Tamworth City brigade, in Lockheed St, will open from 9am to 3pm.
The Manilla brigade, in Station St, will open from 10am to 2pm.
Kingswood’s station on Spains Ln, will open from 9.30am to 1pm, and Watsons Creek’s station will open from 11am to 4pm.
RFS Tamworth community safety officer Inspector Peter Roffe said the open day would give attending families the chance to learn valuable skills on how to protect themselves from bush and grass fires.
“I’d encourage all local residents to come along, join in the fun and meet your local volunteers and thank them for the invaluable work they do for the community,” Inspector Roffe said.
