Swimming Australia hand out the JX awards across four categories – gold, silver, bronze and green – in recognition of the achievements young swimmers have made over the past 12 months.
Swimmers must have met certain and qualifying times over set distances to receive the awards that are an initiative of Swimming Australia.
The City Sharks were awarded eight gold medals, six silver, eight bronze and 13 green, with each recipient also earning a Swimming Australia prize pack.
The Sharks were breaking records this year even before the swimming started after registering a record 147 swimmers and 55 junior Shark Squad swimmers for the summer season.
To deal with the extra numbers, head coach Nicolas Monet has been joined by a fellow countryman and former France national competitor Lucas Estran to be an assistant coach and trainer.
Secretary Sharon Barnett said the club was going from strength to strength each season, and getting another swimming coach of that calibre underlined that.
“The season has only just begun and we have already had great results come in from carnivals,” Barnett said.
“There is a really great atmosphere around this season.”
