Sean spoke confidently and with pride in the traditional language of the local Gomeroi people.
He then went on to perform in the Indigenous dance item.
Well done Sean.
Another featured artist from Westdale was Lily Fox, she is a remarkable young dancer and her skills and talent as a ballerina was showcased and spotlighted throughout the performance.
Well done Lily we are so proud of you.
As well as Sean and Lily over 200 students participated in the CAPERS performance.
We would like to say a big thank you to all the students, teachers, parents and caregivers who helped to make it a successful and enjoyable event. Great work Westdale.
Blues award
Last Friday our Principal Mr Ben van Aanholt had the pleasure of having lunch with our latest blues recipients.
The students received their reward as a part of the positive merit award system currently in place.
Mr V said it was a pleasure to have lunch with you and to learn more about you.
Condolences
Our deepest sympathy is extended to the Allan and Porter families on the passing of the late Norm Allan.
Norm had several years ago worked at Westdale Public School as a school learning support officer and had a long association with the school.
This year Norm was our invited guest speaker at our NAIDOC week assembly where he shared some of his favourite memories with the audience.
Norm will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
