A spokeswoman for the group said they were told in September that due to a shortage of staff to supervise at break times, no students could use the equipment until further notice.
“I made an appointment to see the Deputy Principal and then the Principal and was informed that the school did not have enough staff to supervise the kids so they can’t play,” she said
“Then I was told that the view of the playground equipment was blocked by a science building and they did not have enough funds to move them.
“Then we were told they were going to move the equipment but had to wait for qualified workers to become available, It’s not good enough, the kids need to run around and play during their break time.”
However, Emmaville Central School Principal Gillian Davis disputed the claims and said the students had plenty of options available to them at play times.
“Our playground equipment is temporarily out of action because we are in the process of refurbishing it in another location,” she said.
“Our students are still able to exercise at play times.
“The school has ample play options for students of all ages.”
