They all did such a wonderful job getting up on stage for their assembly item last week.
Each and every child should be proud of their achievements.
- Nemingha Public School
Thank you to everyone who came to watch.
We were extremely proud of our class performing to such a large audience.
It is hard to believe they have almost finished their first year at school.
Kindergarten provides a foundation for learning and it is remarkable to see the progress over the year.
Each and every child should be proud of their achievements.
Our literacy unit this term is based on rhyme.
Phonological patterns are a key focus as children are explicitly taught about word building.
We have also been identifying rhyming words and working with them in texts. Some sentences written using rhyme include:
*The fish swam to the dish - Alex Mackenzie
*I am going to squish the fish - Taylor Betts
*The wish is in the dish - Sophie Cleal
In mathematics we have been busy investigating capacity and patterns.
Students have practised skip counting by twos, fives, and 10s.
We have done a super job at working out the number pattern and continuing it with the next number or finding the missing number. In number we will be consolidating our learning of sharing and ordering numbers.
A very big thank you to all our classroom helpers who have given their time this year.
Kindergarten is a busy place and we are grateful for those extra hands.
