Police have charged three teenage girls over a robbery and assault in Armidale last weekend.
About 1.40am on Sunday September 16, two 22-year-old women were dropped off by taxi outside a college on Meredith Street.
The pair was approached by three females who allegedly assaulted and robbed them.
The women suffered scratches and bruises to their head, face and arms. They also had their handbags stolen.
Police from New England Local Area Command commenced an investigation which led to the arrest of three teenagers in the local area over past two days.
Detectives arrested a 17-year-old girl at a home on Jones Avenue in Armidale on Tuesday.
She was charged with two counts of robbery in company and will next appear in Armidale Children’s Court on Tuesday 25 September.
Yesterday afternoon, police arrested two girls, aged 17 and 16, at a home on Galloway Street in Armidale.
The have each been charged with two counts of robbery in company.
Both were refused bail to appear in Armidale Children’s Court today.
