End-of-year celebrations for thousands of northern school leavers are under way and in Tamworth yesterday it was a day for super heroes and villains – but of the most charitable kind.
Year 12 students at two local schools dressed to impress but also helped with local causes including cleaning up civic places and raising funds for a memorial appeal.
Oxley High girls Tiffany Smith and Michaela Davis, pictured, were among those dressing as the Powerpuff Girls to strut their stuff.
The school leavers officially end their schooling days this week with study breaks to come after the schools holidays and the start of the Higher School Certificate exams in mid-October.
