The three-day workshop will run from Friday, November 6 to Sunday, November 8 in Bellingen, where the musicians will get intensive tutoring and mentoring from the prestigious orchestra.
Calrossy girls Michaela Bevan and Ella Low and recent Oxley High Year 12 graduate Toby Harradine were excited to be chosen for the event.
The students will learn techniques on full ensemble work and then be split into their instrument groups for more personalised training.
Toby, who has been playing the bassoon for seven years, said it was a really good opportunity to learn from
some of the best musicians in the state.
The youngest of the trio, Ella, put it very simply when asked what drew them to the three-day workshop.
“It’s the Sydney Symphony Orchestra,” she said.
Seventy-three students from across regional NSW have been chosen for the exclusive Playerlink program which travels to regional music conservatoriums across the state.
