The Calrossy 1st XI played The Armidale School (TAS) in the first round of the state wide Douglas Shield competition.
Played in Tamworth TAS bowled first and Calrossy after their 50 overs were dismissed for 365.
Tyson Rennie contributed 114, AJ Pretorius opened the innings with 62, Jack Diebold 52 and Bill Buster a whirlwind 32.
TAS replied with 181 being dismissed in the 28th over of the innings.
This success brings a second round game against old foes, Hunter Valley Grammar School in Maitland.

Blake Murphy in a blistering spell had 4-28 off five overs, Aaron Madirazza 2-33 off five overs, and the other wickets shared evenly between Bill Buster, Ben Grant, Tyson Rennie and Hugh Duncan.

Many of the first XI players then travelled to Coffs Harbour to play Bishop Druitt in the Wiburd Shield competition.
On an overcast morning Bishop Druitt batted their allotted 40 overs to reach a total of 7-99.
Sam Gray taking 2-13 off three overs, and Blake Murphy again prominent with 2-10 off five.
Calrrossy replied making 3-100 off 17 overs.
Major contributors were AJ Pretorius 47, Pranav Majumdar 17 and Sam Buster 16 not out.
The next round game is an away fixture against Moriah College from Bondi Junction.
