The 1200kms for Kids ride has run for nine years, raising more than $1.5 million for vital medical equipment for children in regional hospitals.
The charity ride has raised about $156,000 this year, with more funds expected.
The group left Brisbane’s Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital on Friday and are to arrive at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney this Friday.
Organiser and cyclist Darryl Dixon said the ride was a challenge, but the effort was all worth it after receiving feedback from communities along the way.
“All the hills are nothing compared to meeting families that our fundraising has helped,” he said.
While in Tamworth, the riders donated a cheque for $2360 to Tamworth hospital which will go towards a device that will help with the administering of medicines to children.
The riders will depart Tamworth this morning for their next stop in Muswellbrook.
