Chris and Jessica Galvin were married in Sydney on September 26 at St Ignatius College, Riverview, before more than 100 family and friends.
They included Jaine Gallegos, who is Jessica's aunt on her father's side, Jessica's maternal grandmother Shirley Wright, and her aunt on her mum's side, Nanette Killen all from Tamworth.
After their marriage, the happy couple went to Bradleys Head for photos with their photographer, just as a storm started to roll in over the harbour.
Not so good for a newlyweds' photo shoot, but perfect for amateur photographer Sam Yeldham, who had his camera set up in the area to capture the weather system that was moving in.
"But just as the couple edged across the platform that jutted into the harbour, the sky began to clear and the sun burst out from behind the thick cloud," he told Fairfax Media.
"The wind was so crazy the groom was trying to hold down the bride's dress and she was trying to not get it scuffed up and muddied.
"Then there was this brilliant moment they managed to get into their pose. It was just magic.
"It was such an incredible sight.
"Then we said goodbye and they left."
Mr Yeldham said he knew at the time how beautiful the shot was even if he hadn't intended on getting the couple in it but was reluctant to show them then, particularly when they had their own photographer capturing the day.
It was only days later after he'd put the shot on social media and people started asking who the couple was, and commenting on the beauty of the photo, that Mr Yeldham decided he should try and track them down.
The word went out and Mrs Gallegos said her niece and new husband were alerted to the search all the way over in Hawaii, where they were honeymooning.
They subsequently got in touch with Mr Yeldham and both photographer and newlyweds have been inundated with interview requests over what's been described as one of the great wedding shots.
They've spoken to media as far away as the UK and US.
Mrs Gallegos said Mr Yeldham had since given a print of the harbour shot to the couple, who returned from Hawaii this week.
"I'm a wedding celebrant so I've seen a lot of weddings and this one was just so beautiful," Mrs Gallegos said.
"I just think it's so great the world got to see the photos."
