Tamworth pair to mix it with best at titles

TAMWORTH’S Brittany Coe and Tyler Harris are off to Port Macquarie this week to play in the 2012 National Youth Championships.

The championships commence tomorrow  and will involve the country’s best up and coming talent with teams from across Australia as well as teams from New Zealand competing over the four days.

Harris will be playing for the Northern Territory 18s boys after being selected from his Northern Eagles team as an invitational player.

He is currently over on the coast for a couple of hard days training with his Northern Territory team-mates.

They will play the ACT Pirates, Western Australia, NSW Combined Catholic Colleges, Tasmania, the New Zealand 17s, NSW Combined High Schools side, which contains Inverell’s Bevan French, and the NSW Touch Association development team.

Coe will represent the NSWCCC 18s sides.

She has been travelling to training camps in Penrith, Newcastle and Sydney in preparation for the championships.

Her CCC side will face South Australia, Western Australia, Northern Territory, Central Queensland, NSW Combined Independent Schools, Queensland Secondary Schools, South West Queensland and the New Zealand 17s in their round games.

The round games will be played tomorrow, Thursday and Friday with the finals games on Saturday.
