In the NDL on June 9 this year, attention was drawn to the dereliction of duty so very apparent by the parks and gardens division(amongst others) of our council.

Mention was made of mistletoe in several parks and streets, such as Victoria and Arthur Emblem, plus Brisbane, Darling and Bourke streets.
In addition, mention was made of a collapsed tree in the Long Gully section of Arthur Emblen Park.
As of Tuesday this week, the position remains unchanged.
This is an absolute disgrace, as it displays a complete lack of respect for the ratepayers, and in particular, the late Arthur Emblen, whose financial contribution is noted on the park identification.
Our council appears to be completely negligent/irresponsible, when it comes to care of existing assets, including our central business district, for which it has become responsible, while, at the same time, loudly blowing its trumpet about new developments taking shape.
New developments are most welcome, however, those existing assets/developments with which we are greatly endowed must be cared for, even if council cannot display great aggrandisement for their efforts, such as when they buy a new gold mayoral chain.
