At the Quirindi RSL course the club has a full field for the annual Flemings Grain Processing Quirindi Open Fourball.
Eighty eight players from Boggabri, Murrurundi Tamworth, Longyard, Gunnedah, Muswellbrook and Walcha tee off from 8.10am with Quirindi members in the four-ball open.
In Tamworth, the Tamworth Lady Golfers stage their annual Harvey Specsavers Tamworth Ladies Open Fourball.
It has 100 players booked in to play from Armidale, Coonabarabran, Manilla, Nundle, Uralla, Werris Creek joining the Longyard and Tamworth Lady Golfers with a two-tee start from 8.30am.
The Tamworth Golf Club will also stage its Fourball Match Play Final on Saturday with brothers, Peter and Michael Spinks playing Byron Smith and Kevin Thompson.
Today the Longyard Golf Club stages the annual Carlo’s IGA Charity Day while the annual Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Charity Day is being held Friday, October 30.
The WRHS charity day is sponsored by Woodley’s Motors, said WRHS’ Jeff Galbraith.
“The event this year will have a small change and will now be a four-person Ambrose with check-in from 11am and a shotgun start at noon,” he said.
“Registrations for the Woodley’s Motors Longyard Golf day can be made at www.rescuehelicopter.com.au and are $250 per team of four which includes BBQ lunch on arrival, golf with the usual huge array of trophies, and this year we have added after-golf snacks to enjoy with your icy cold beer.”
