Chantel Frances Lee Tyson was initially denied bail by police but was granted conditional release in Tamworth Local Court yesterday afternoon, charged in connection to the incident on Sunday morning.
Police will allege a knife was produced by Tyson when she and two other women forced their way into a home in Holland St about 4.30am.
An occupant inside the home suffered minor injuries as a result of the alleged altercation, which police claim was sparked by a dispute on social media.
Yesterday, Magistrate Michael Holmes agreed to grant Tyson bail after an agreement on conditions by police and Tyson’s solicitor.
“I am concerned about the risks of you committing another serious offence and endangering the safety of victims, witnesses and the community,” he said, adding that strict conditions would be imposed to mitigate the risks.
Tyson, who did not say anything during the proceedings but nodded her head, had to post $1000 in surety to secure her release and will have to report to police once a week.
She has also been prohibited from contacting or associating with two co-accused.
“Even by Facebook, or any other way, you’re not to associate with them,” Mr Holmes said, detailing her bail conditions.
“You’re not to drink alcohol or take illicit drugs, and you’re not to enter Holland St.
“You’re lucky to get bail.”
The court heard the case would be referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions to consider, which could see the case committed for trial or sentence in the district court.
Tyson was not required to enter a plea yesterday to the charge of aggravated breaking-and-entering and committing a serious indictable offence inflicting actual bodily harm, which carries up to 14 years in prison if convicted.
Investigators have been ordered to compile a brief of evidence into the case before it returns to court later this month.
Police confirmed yesterday two other women, aged 23 and 26, had been charged over the alleged home invasion and granted conditional bail to appear in court this month.
