Tails were wagging at the Heaven Can Wait animal shelter when Telstra turned up to deliver a $3000 cheque to the local charity.

Heaven Can Wait was one of three local organisations chosen from 21 applicants for this year’s Telstra Connected Community Project, after Telstra shop customers cast their votes for those they thought most deserved the funding.
Tamworth marketing manager Chris White said the community had shown an impressive amount of support for the animal shelter, with plenty of votes and appreciation for its work.
Heaven Can Wait founder and president Kate Davies said the group hadn’t yet decided what to spend the money on – but the possibilities were endless.
Local charities Twice 2 and Bullimbal Special School will share the remaining $2000 of the program fund.
