More than 40 people, including nannas, took advantage of the free health checks and information sessions, aimed at improving the overall health of mothers and their children.
There was information and education aplenty, with health professionals and services from Gomeroi gaaynggal Centre, University of Newcastle, University of New England, The Smith Family, Hunter New England Local Health District, ARDAC, Birth Beat, Abilitylinks, Building Safer Families, Healthwise New England North West.
Childhood milestones, physiotherapy, infant resuscitation, oral health, smoking cessation, literacy and education, nutrition, breast check, community health, kidney and diabetes screening, childcare, midwives and mental health issues were major topics of the day.
Gomeroi gaaynggal Centre Indigenous projects manager Lyniece Keogh said she was delighted with the number of community members who took the time to visit the centre for the health checks.
