THE LITTLE Athletics season is still a few weeks away but the Tamworth club is busy signing up youngsters already.
The club has already received nearly half the registrations it had last year thanks to a sign-up day last Sunday and will sign a few more this Sunday at the regional athletics centre.
“We did 70 registrations on Sunday,” club publicity officer Kerry Fensbo said.
“And we’ve had about 25 online as well.
“We had a few new families sign up, so that’s good.”
This week’s sign-on day is from noon until 2pm.
The first week of Little A’s is still a month away but some kids are already training for school meets.
“A lot of kids have been training because they have state carnival coming up,” Fensbo said.
“They’ve been training three days a week with Jake Hazell.”
The first Little A’s meet is on October 12 and Fensbo said she would like to have all registrations done by then.
