Finishing the season undefeated, Quirindi were on top of the ladder going into the finals, which were contested at the Sports Dome last Sunday.
On the back of 11 straight victories the division one side met second placed Tamworth in the semi-final, sweeping the court with a 21 point victory to go straight to the final.
Narrabri beat a Group 14 side and then the same Tamworth team, both come-from-behind victories, to meet Quirindi in the big one.
Another comeback wasn’t on the cards as Quirindi stormed to a 71-28 victory to lift the trophy and book a spot in the inter-regional state championships later in the month.
Quirindi almost claimed the double, although Tamworth took their revenge with a 63-41 point win in the division two final.
Netball NSW regional co-ordinator Monique Smith said the day was a fitting finish to the local season.
“It was a fantastic finals day filled with tough contests, which is exactly how you’d like to see the competition come to a close for the 2015 season,” Smith said.
“Congratulations to both Quirindi and Tamworth – both deserved champions after having impressive seasons.”
The Inter-Regional State League competition was introduced by Netball NSW in 2013, and sees all the Division 1 Champions from each region come together to compete for the title of State Champion.
