As the minor premiers they go straight through to the decider, with Tudors and Kiwis to match up this Sunday for the right to meet them.
Workies coach Andrew Farmilo thought they played pretty well but still probably within themselves.
“We probably squandered a few chances,” he said.
“We didn’t really get out of second gear, did what we had to.”
They almost kept a clean sheet but for what he thought was a “soft goal” in the last couple of minutes.
Up their end they were again guilty of a bit of impatience.
“Once we hit the 25 we were still impatient,” Farmilo said.
The work-rate though was pretty good.
“We actually did a lot of running,” he said.
“We still could have stepped it (work-rate) up a bit.”
Chris White slotted a double with Isaac Farmilo providing the extras.
Tudors coach Sam Lobsey was pretty happy with his side’s performance.
“We weren’t too disappointed with the result,” he said.
“We were able to shut them out a little better than we have in the past.”
He put that down down to a fresher attitude in the way they defended, and making that extra effort.
“That little bit more effort to stay with the player put them (Workies) under a bit more pressure,” he said.
It would have been nice to get a victory, he said, but there were some good signs for the finals.
“I feel like we’re starting to do some of the things we want to in the next couple of weeks,” he said.
Aside from scoring goals.
“Unfortunately we didn’t take our opportunities,” Lobsey said.
“I felt we could have got something out of the game.”
Will Finch was their lone scorer.
