In fact, Tamworth is likely to see a few more frosts this week for the first week of the new season and there’s the likelihood of a few more than that up on the tablelands too.
While we can expect to see some drops below zero, Wednesday’s likely to bring a warmer one ahead of some rain forecast for Thursday.
But generally, the maximums will still be in the high teen figures and pretty much the same as we’ve had for the past week.
Some of our colder climate places can expect minimums down to minus five degrees.
While Tamworth didn’t drop below zero yesterday, there were half a dozen places that recorded sub-zero temperatures.
While the monthly climate statistics won’t be released by the Weather Bureau until today, Tamworth looks to have finished August with an average daytime temperature of 18 degrees and a coolish overnight average of two degrees.
We recorded just on 54mm of rain, about 10mm more than the long term average.
