Natasha Darcy-Crossman was yesterday sentenced in Armidale District Court after enticing a man to change his police statement during an encounter at a front gate in Walcha earlier this year, as well as text messages.
Darcy-Crossman also admitted to making a false representation resulting in a police investigation.
The crown had earlier argued the offending was a deliberate attempt to manipulate the evidence.
Darcy-Crossman was on parole at the time of her offending, after setting fire to a property in Walcha in 2009.
Yesterday, Judge Stephan Hanley sentenced her to two years behind bars for the offending, with a minimum non-parole period of 12 months.
But the sentence won’t start until October, when Darcy-Crossman finishes a non-parole sentence for fraud after she racked up more than $7000 on her former lover’s credit card.
Darcy-Crossman had appealed the severity of the 12 month sentence imposed in the local court earlier this year when she was found guilty and convicted of 12 counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage.
