The two-day floral art show will be opened by Ann Barwick, whose Willow Tree home was the location of the first meeting of the NSW association in 1973.
Mrs Barwick was the first secretary/treasurer of the association and her mother, Hilda Upperton, was elected the inaugural president.
Together with locals Eva Gollan, June Swain, Olive Sparke, Beth Doyle, Maureen Ritchie and the then-president of Garden Clubs of Australia, Kay McCallum, they established an association to meet the needs of floral exhibition and competition and to educate members across the state.
Association president Mary Sweeney said the August 28-29 seminar, in Blazes showroom at Wests, was a wonderful opportunity for members and floral artists to come together to compete, share and gain knowledge.
Royal Horticultural Society president Cecily Rogers and international designers who attended the 2014 World Show in Dublin, are among the creative floral designers from across NSW, Queensland and the ACT expected to attend.
The public is welcome to view the entries, demonstrations and take part in the workshops to be held by New Zealand-based floral designer, Francine Thomas.
The program opens at 9.15am on Friday, followed by demonstrations by Mrs Thomas and trainee association judges Helen Mitchell, Lanny Pramana and Ann Crasti.
Three contemporary workshops are open to association members and non-members.
