The centre’s educators have gone all out for the centre’s Book Week celebrations, dressing in fine style as characters from story books old and new, every day this week.
Alice in Wonderland’s Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Alice, the White Rabbit and Queen of Hearts greeted the youngsters as they entered the building, adding to the excitement of their literacy lessons.
Most of the littlies got into character as well, educator Chan- telle Faulkner (Tweedle Dee) said.
“This activity supports positive relationships between educ- ators and children and their families, collaborating together to dress up and show our support for literacy,” Ms Faulkner said.
“The variety of costumes allowed children to view characters and their stories, some they may not have seen before, and provoking thinking and interest in books and reading.
“We’ve read lots of books this week – Thelma The Unicorn, Primrose, Polly’s Pink Pajamas, The Very Cranky Bear and Alice in Wonderland – to name just a few.”
