COUGARS fought back from six runs down to finish over the top of Gunnedah Giants in their Tamworth Baseball competition clash on Saturday.

From 6-nil down after the third innings, Cougars overran the visitors to take the points 12-6.
After scoring their first run at the top of the fourth, they made their move in the fifth, hitting six to hit the front.
They added another three in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Scott Hurn topped the hits with three, with Wes Krannenberg, Brian Hopton and Brock Ridgewell each registering two and Natalie Crittle and Chris Hadden one.
Grant Sippel, Simon Norvill, Graham Keeler and Brodie Cleal all had one hit for Gunnedah.
Sippel and Norvill shared the pitching for them with Sippel starting and getting three strike-outs and Norvill two.
Ridgewell was first up to the plate for Cougars and had four strike-outs, with Hopton finishing the innings out, also with four.
Warriors were too strong for the Cougars Cavaliers in the other game, running out 16-1 victors over the development side.
Mick Martin and Mitch Holt led the hits for Warriors with four, and were well supported by Sam Holt (three), Jack Richards and Dave Ardill (two) and Robert Chandler, John Warren and Brad Redshaw (one).
Grant Minett was the best with the bat for the Cavaliers with two hits.
Matt Forrester and Dave Belt chipped in with one, Forrester also picking up three strike outs.
Tony Kong closed out for them.
Richards did the closing job for Warriors and had three strike-outs.
Earlier Cougars won the inter-club B grade battle, beating the Cavaliers 11-7.
